| | Aloha volunteers, Last year, the Hawaiian Humane Society rescued over 300 dogs and several rabbits from inhumane living conditions. Our volunteer team and hundreds of community members stepped forward to help care for these animals. As of July all rescued animals have found loving homes, but there are still many more in need of help. There are numerous ways to get involved with us to help continue our work in animal welfare. Alice initially became involved as a Joy Ambassador with her dog Sweety, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. Alice and Sheba began joined the education team for school presentations in 2016. Recently, Alice and Sheba have helped the education program build a partnership with the Kapolei Juvenile Detention Center. In the last 6 months, Alice and Sheba have accompanied the education department on dozens of visits and helped educate more than 775 students. Two paws-up for Alice and Sheba! Thousands celebrate the donations that they collect for PetWalk, our annual mahalo party featuring food, fun and entertainment for pets and people.There is no mandatory registration fee. All who participate simply collect donations with an online giving page or with our printed form. The average online giving page collects about $150!
